How to Export Twitter Followers to CSV

Turn any public profile's follower or following list into a structured CSV file with 20+ metadata fields. No API keys, no complicated setup — just enter a username and download.

7 steps

Before You Start

  • Google Chrome browser (desktop)
  • An X (Twitter) account (logged in)
  • Followers Exporter Pro for X installed from the Chrome Web Store
  • A spreadsheet application (Excel, Google Sheets, or similar) for viewing the CSV
1

Install Followers Exporter Pro for X

Visit the Chrome Web Store listing and click "Add to Chrome." The extension installs instantly with no API keys or account creation required. It uses your existing logged-in X session for authentication.
2

Navigate to any profile on X (Twitter)

Go to x.com and navigate to the profile you want to export data from. This can be your own profile or any public account. The extension works on any public profile — it does not need to be an account you follow or own.
Pro Tip

If you visit a profile page directly, the extension auto-fills the username for you. You can also enter any username manually in the extension panel.

3

Open the exporter panel and enter a username

Click the floating PlugMonkey button on the right side of the screen to open the exporter panel. If you are on a profile page, the username is auto-filled. Otherwise, type the username of the account whose followers or following list you want to export. The username field accepts handles with or without the @ symbol.

4

Select Followers or Following and start the export

Choose whether you want to export the account's Followers (people who follow them) or Following (people they follow). Click "Start" to begin the export. The extension fetches data in batches with automatic rate-limit-safe pacing. A real-time progress bar shows how many records have been collected and the estimated time remaining.
Important

Free users can export up to 250 records per download and 3 downloads per week. PRO users have unlimited exports with no record cap — even for accounts with 100K+ followers.

5

Review the data in the paginated table view

Once the export completes, the data appears in a paginated table within the panel. Each row represents one account with 20+ metadata fields: username, display name, bio, location, follower count, following count, tweet count, verified status, account creation date, profile image URL, and more. Scroll through the pages to review the data before downloading.
Pro Tip

The table view is useful for quick analysis. You can spot patterns — like which followers are verified, which have the most followers themselves, or which are located in specific regions — before even opening a spreadsheet.

6

Download the CSV file

Click the "Download CSV" button to save the file to your default downloads folder. The CSV file is named with the username, list type, and date (e.g., "elonmusk_followers_2026-02-15.csv"). The file opens directly in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers, or any spreadsheet application.
7

Open and analyze the CSV in your spreadsheet application

Open the downloaded CSV in Excel or Google Sheets. All 20+ data fields are organized in columns: Username, Display Name, Bio, Location, URL, Followers Count, Following Count, Tweet Count, Listed Count, Verified, Created At, Profile Image URL, Banner Image URL, Protected, Default Profile, Default Profile Image, and more. Use spreadsheet features like sorting, filtering, and pivot tables to analyze the data.
Pro Tip

In Google Sheets, use Data > Create a filter to sort followers by follower count (descending) to find the most influential accounts. Or filter by 'Verified = TRUE' to see only verified followers.

Summary

You have successfully exported a Twitter/X follower or following list to a structured CSV file with 20+ metadata fields per account. This data is invaluable for audience analysis, competitor research, influencer identification, and CRM integration. The export process works on any public profile — not just your own — making it a powerful tool for marketing and research teams. Run exports periodically to track audience growth over time by comparing CSV snapshots. Followers Exporter Pro for X handles all rate limiting automatically, so large exports (even 100K+ records) complete safely.
