Align Your LinkedIn Cleanup With HubSpot
For sales and recruiting teams: prune your LinkedIn network without ever removing a real prospect or client, and keep your CRM's picture of each relationship accurate.
Last updated: July 29, 2026
If you run sales or recruiting through HubSpot, your LinkedIn network and your CRM tell two halves of the same story. Cleaning up LinkedIn is worthwhile — but you never want to remove a live prospect or a current client by accident. This workflow uses your HubSpot contact list to build a protected list before any bulk run, and uses the extension's filtered export to keep a record of what changed. It's a manual, deliberate pairing — no automated sync — designed to keep cleanup safe for revenue-critical relationships.
Step-by-Step Guide
Export your active contacts from HubSpot
In HubSpot, open Contacts, apply a filter for the people who matter — for example, lifecycle stage of Customer or Opportunity, or an active deal association — and use Export to download that list as a CSV. This is your list of relationships you must not break on LinkedIn.
Build your protected list in the extension
Open Connection Remover Pro for LinkedIn and search for each key HubSpot contact by name or company, then add them to the built-in Protected list. Protected connections are never touched by Mass Remove or Mass Unfollow, even when they match your filters. This guarantees your CRM's most valuable relationships survive any cleanup.
Clean up the rest of your network safely
With your prospects and clients protected, use the panel's filters to target the connections you actually want to prune — spam, stale contacts, or ex-colleagues from a former employer — and run Mass Remove or Mass Unfollow on those segments. Use Conservative pacing for large runs and review the preview before you start.
Important: removed connections can't be restored automatically, so confirm your Protected list includes every live CRM relationship before running a bulk removal.
Log what changed back in HubSpot
After a cleanup, export your actioned list from Connection Remover Pro for LinkedIn as a CSV (PRO). If any of those contacts also live in HubSpot, you can update their record — for instance, add a note or a custom property like LinkedIn: unfollowed or LinkedIn: disconnected — so your CRM reflects the real state of the relationship. Import the CSV or update records manually depending on your HubSpot plan.
