YouTube tech reviewer, 240K subscribers, 2-3 videos/week, solo operator
The Challenge
Creator needed reference footage for every review video — product B-roll, competitor comparison clips, archive footage when products got discontinued. Previous workflow: screen-recording at 1080p from manufacturer sites, paying $29/month for a video downloader SaaS, plus paying VAs $400/month to source clips manually. Total: ~$700/month.
The Approach
Replaced both screen-recording and the VA workflow with Video Downloader Pro. Downloaded reference clips from manufacturer pages, news sites, embedded Vimeo demos. Got 4K source when available (vs 1080p screen captures). Built a clip-library workflow: download → tag in Notion → reuse across videos.
The Outcome
Monthly tooling cost: $700 → $7 ($6.99 Pro plan). Reference clip quality improved (4K vs 1080p). Saved ~6 hours/week previously spent coordinating with VAs. Used freed time to add a second YouTube short per video — channel grew from 240K → 310K subs in 90 days.
