Turn Your X Followers Into HubSpot Contacts

Export your X followers list with X Followers Exporter Pro and import it into HubSpot to identify prospects already in your audience, enrich contact records with social data, and run targeted outreach campaigns.

Last updated: March 6, 2026

Some of your best sales prospects are already following you on X. X Followers Exporter Pro gives you a complete, structured list of your followers — including their bios, follower counts, and locations. By importing that data into HubSpot, you can cross-reference it against existing contacts, enrich records with social context, and create highly targeted outreach sequences for followers who match your ideal customer profile.

Step-by-Step Guide

1

Export your followers list from X Followers Exporter Pro

Open X Followers Exporter Pro while logged into your X account:

  1. Click the extension icon to open the panel and let it load your full followers list
  2. Apply filters to focus your export — for CRM import purposes, consider filtering for accounts with a minimum follower count (e.g., 500+) to prioritize higher-value prospects
  3. Click Export CSV to download your followers list

The CSV will include username, display name, follower count, following count, bio, location, and account URL — enough information to identify professional prospects and enrich HubSpot contact records.

Tip:Filter for followers with a non-empty bio field and a follower count above 200. These accounts are far more likely to be real professionals than low-activity or bot accounts.
2

Prepare the CSV for HubSpot import

HubSpot's contact import requires specific column headers. Open your exported CSV in a spreadsheet editor and rename the columns to match HubSpot's expected field names:

  • display_name → split into First Name and Last Name (or keep as a single Full Name custom property)
  • username → map to a custom HubSpot property: Twitter Handle
  • bio → map to Notes or a custom property: Twitter Bio
  • followers_count → map to a custom property: Twitter Followers
  • location → map to City or Country

Add a Lead Source column with the value X Followers Export for all rows — this lets you filter and segment these contacts easily in HubSpot later.

Tip:Create a HubSpot custom property called "Twitter Handle" before importing. This makes the mapping step much cleaner and ensures the username data doesn't get lost.
3

Import contacts into HubSpot CRM

In HubSpot, navigate to Contacts → Import:

  1. Select Start an import → File from computer → Contacts
  2. Upload your prepared CSV file
  3. Map each CSV column to the corresponding HubSpot property on the column mapping screen
  4. For unmapped columns, create new custom properties on the fly using the "Add a property" option
  5. Choose whether to update existing contacts (if the email matches) or create new contacts only
  6. Review the import summary and click Finish import

HubSpot will process the import and notify you when complete. Newly created contacts will appear in your Contacts list tagged with the import date.

Tip:On the import mapping screen, pay attention to the "Update existing contacts" option. If you already have contacts in HubSpot, enabling this setting will enrich their records with Twitter data without creating duplicates.
4

Create a smart list for X-sourced prospects

After import, create a HubSpot Active List to segment your X followers for targeted outreach:

  1. Go to Contacts → Lists → Create list → Active list
  2. Name it X Followers — High Value
  3. Add filters:
    • Lead Source = X Followers Export
    • Twitter Followers ≥ 1,000
    • Lifecycle Stage = Lead (not yet a Customer)
  4. Save the list

This dynamic list automatically includes future imports from X Followers Exporter Pro as long as they meet the criteria. You can use this list as the enrollment trigger for a HubSpot sequence or as the audience for a targeted email campaign.

Tip:Add a filter for "Notes contains [your product niche keyword]" to surface followers whose bio mentions your industry. These are your warmest prospects — they follow you AND work in your space.
5

Set up a LinkedIn/email enrichment workflow

X followers often don't have email addresses, which limits direct outreach. Use HubSpot's enrichment and workflow features to fill the gap:

  • HubSpot Prospecting — Use the built-in data enrichment tool to auto-populate email, company, and job title for contacts that have LinkedIn profiles matching the name/location data
  • LinkedIn Sales Navigator — If connected, you can search for contacts by the Twitter Handle property to find their LinkedIn profile and import a verified email
  • Manual research — For your top 20–30 high-value followers, a quick LinkedIn search by name and company is often faster than bulk enrichment

Once contacts have emails, enroll them in a HubSpot sequence that opens with a personalized reference to their X content: "I noticed you follow us on X and you tweeted about [topic]…"

Tip:Even without email, HubSpot can send LinkedIn InMail via the Sales Hub integration. For high-value followers you can't find an email for, a LinkedIn connection request referencing their X activity can be more effective than a cold email.
