Send Reddit Alerts Directly to Slack

Start by configuring Reddit Scout Pro with the keywords you want to monitor. Open the extension and add keyword monitors for:

• Brand mentions — your company name, product names, and common misspellings
• Competitor keywords — competitors' names to track comparison discussions
• Problem keywords — phrases describing the problem your product solves (e.g., "best way to track Instagram followers")
• Subreddit + keyword combinations — e.g., "recommend" in r/entrepreneur, or "anyone use" in r/SaaS

For each keyword monitor, configure the alert threshold (e.g., posts with 5+ upvotes only) to filter out low-quality noise before it reaches Slack.

Reddit Scout Pro can push alerts to Slack via incoming webhooks. Set up a webhook in your Slack workspace:

1. Go to api.slack.com/apps → Create New App → From scratch
2. Name the app Reddit Scout Alerts and select your workspace
3. Go to Incoming Webhooks → toggle Activate Incoming Webhooks to On
4. Click Add New Webhook to Workspace
5. Select the Slack channel you want alerts posted to (e.g., #reddit-alerts)
6. Copy the Webhook URL provided

Create dedicated Slack channels for different alert types: #reddit-brand-mentions, #reddit-leads, #reddit-competitors. Set up a separate webhook for each channel.

In Reddit Scout Pro, configure the Slack integration for each keyword monitor:

1. Open Reddit Scout Pro → Settings → Integrations → Webhook / Slack
2. Paste the Slack Webhook URL you created for the corresponding channel
3. Configure which monitors send alerts to which webhook URL — route brand mentions to #reddit-brand-mentions, lead opportunities to #reddit-leads
4. Set the alert format to include: post title, subreddit, upvote count, comment count, direct link to the post, and a brief excerpt
5. Test the integration by clicking Send test alert — a test message should appear in your Slack channel

Once connected, Reddit Scout Pro will automatically post new matching posts to the correct Slack channel as they appear.

Set up a Slack workflow to make Reddit alerts actionable for your team:

1. In Slack, open Tools → Workflow Builder → Create Workflow
2. Choose trigger: When a message is posted to a channel → select #reddit-leads
3. Add step: Send a message to a person → route to the team member responsible for lead response (e.g., the sales rep on duty)
4. Add step: Add a reaction to the message → use emoji as a triage system: 👀 = being investigated, ✅ = responded, ❌ = not relevant

This creates a lightweight triage system where any Reddit post that reaches Slack is tracked until a team member marks it as handled. No leads or mentions fall through the cracks.

In addition to real-time alerts, set up a weekly Reddit digest message in Slack using Reddit Scout Pro's digest feature or a simple Slack scheduled message:

1. In Reddit Scout Pro, enable the Weekly Digest option which compiles the top Reddit posts from your keywords each week
2. Set the digest to export as a structured summary with post titles, upvote counts, and links
3. Schedule a Slack message every Monday morning in #reddit-alerts compiling the week's top posts
4. Include a brief editorial summary: which subreddits were most active, which keywords had the most mentions, any notable trends

The weekly digest gives leadership and team members who don't monitor Slack continuously a clear summary of Reddit activity without needing to scroll back through days of individual alerts.
