When Do Notifications Trigger?
Notifications are not sent for every keyword match. Reddit Scout Pro applies an intent score threshold before sending any alert, ensuring that only genuinely high-value mentions interrupt your workflow.
- Default threshold: 70+ — Notifications fire when a mention's buyer intent score reaches 70 or above. This corresponds to high-intent categories like Solution Requests, active Comparisons, and Money Talk discussions.
- Configurable minimum score — You can raise or lower the notification threshold in Settings. Raise it to 85+ if you only want to be alerted for the hottest leads. Lower it to 50+ if you want broader coverage and are comfortable filtering manually.
- Cap of 3 per scan — Each background scan can trigger a maximum of 3 desktop notifications, regardless of how many high-scoring matches were found. The remaining matches are still captured in your dashboard — they just do not generate a notification interruption.

What the Notification Shows You

The notification acts as a direct shortcut to the conversation, reducing friction between alert and action.
Configuring Notification Settings
You can adjust notification behavior from the Reddit Scout Pro settings panel to match your workflow preferences.
- Minimum intent score — Set the score threshold that triggers a notification. Default is 70. Higher values mean fewer but more targeted alerts; lower values mean more coverage.
- Notifications on/off toggle — You can disable notifications entirely if you prefer to check the dashboard on your own schedule. All matches are still captured — you just will not receive desktop interruptions.
- Browser notification permissions — Reddit Scout Pro uses the standard Chrome notification system. If notifications are not appearing, check that you have granted notification permissions to the extension in your browser settings (chrome://settings/content/notifications).
